Although online education is a great tool for high school students, it is often harder for young students to stay motivated and on top of their studies.

Regionally accredited online high schools are among the most trusted form of accreditation.
  • Public online high schools are free to students. In addition, many online public schools provide students with textbooks and computers at no cost. Most public online high schools are regionally accredited and meet state and national requirements for schools. Some public online high schools do not offer high schools diplomas.
  • Online charter schools offer a unique education at no or little cost. Online charter schools are funded by the government, yet they are run independently. Most online charter schools target students of a certain demographic like dropouts or honors students. In addition, some online charter schools focus on specific subjects like technology or the arts.

    Since online charter schools are technically public schools, they cannot charge tuition or have admissions policies. Man online charter school are sponsored by schools districts and may only accept student who live in that school district.
  • University-sponsored online high schools offer high quality education programs. Some university-sponsored online high schools provide university-level credit to students. Many of these programs allow the student to earn college credit while working toward a high school diploma.
